NEOdirect is a team of insurance brokers for Indian expats. Apna Advisor means your own advisor, someone who represents you and explains the German system in a language you actually speak.
Our story
How NEOdirect started
A few years ago we kept noticing the same thing. Many Indian expats were searching for advice in English, and yet English on its own rarely got them where they wanted to be. The German system is genuinely complex, so when you do not yet know how it works, an adviser whose job is to sell you something cannot really help. Too often the result is a policy explained in English that neither side fully understands.
We chose to work differently. As brokers we sit on your side of the table, and for four years we have explained what that actually means in practice. We start with financial planning and only then look at products, because the cover that sounds impressive in a brochure almost never fits the real life of an Indian IT professional in Germany.
NEOdirect grew straight out of that conviction. After 33 years in the German insurance market, Martin realised how well he understood Indian culture and the people he was advising, and in 2022 that understanding became NEOdirect, built together with Firat, an expat who had lived the same confusion himself.
After 33 years in this industry, I realised I understood the people I was advising and their world. In 2022, that became NEOdirect.
Our journey
The journey from India to Germany, and ours alongside it
Every client we meet is making the move from India to Germany, and NEOdirect grew alongside that journey. Here is how we went from one broker to a digital company built for the people making it.
Where it began
Martin starts his career in the German insurance world.
Specialising in PKV leads
Martin acquires the domain privatekrankenversicherung.de and becomes a lead provider for private health insurance — the start of more than 25 years as one of Germany's most experienced PKV specialists.
A focus on health cover
Martin becomes a health insurance broker in Frankfurt am Main.
NEOdirect is born
A fresh start with its own philosophy, built from the ground up as a digital company for Indian expats.
A community takes shape
We start the Facebook group 'Insurance Broker Tips for Indians in Germany', now home to 3,500 members.
The sweetest experience
To celebrate our launch we bought 120 crates of Alphonso mangoes and personally delivered them to our Indian clients across Germany — the sweetest way we know to say thank you.
Close to the community
We have stayed close to Indian communities across Germany, including sponsoring the 
St. Ingbert Cricket Club.
Our own home in Eschborn
We move into our own office in Eschborn.
A journey to India
Martin travels to India to understand better where our clients begin their journey, and what they need before they arrive in Germany.
A new website
We launch a new website built around the journey from India to Germany, so every stage is easier to follow.
Featured in POOLWORLD
The PHÖNIX MAXPOOL magazine POOLWORLD publishes a four-page interview with Martin Grödl, known as Mr. Martin, about the story behind NEOdirect and how we became a specialist for Indian expats in Germany. The article records that, at the time of publication, NEOdirect appeared in Google’s AI overview as a leading contact for Indians in Germany and in the first organic result.
The name
The idea behind NEOdirect
The name reflects how we want advice to feel.
“Neo” represents a fresh approach to understanding insurance and financial decisions in Germany. “Direct” reflects our aim to make things simpler: direct conversations, clear explanations and a personal advisor who knows your situation.
As licensed insurance brokers, we help clients understand their options, compare suitable solutions and navigate a system that can feel complicated when you are new to Germany.
For Indian expats, the idea is simple: advice should be personal, understandable and built around your life, not just a product.
And yes, if the name reminds you of a certain film, we will happily take that as a compliment.

We start by understanding your situation, existing cover and future plans. Only then do we look at suitable solutions that fit your needs.
Clear and transparent pricing
Your first orientation is free. When we arrange insurance, our broker remuneration is generally included in the policy premium and we explain how we are compensated before you decide.
Advice in your language
We speak English, Hindi and Punjabi. We explain the German system in a language you understand and handle German insurance communication when needed.
