The protection applies to you and your family worldwide and around the clock. It can be expanded to include important additional benefits such as daily sick pay or monthly pension payments. With small contributions you gain optimal protection.

CHOOSE PROGRESSION RATE
The progressive tariff offers the best price-performance ratio. Here, insured persons with a high degree of disability receive up to 100,000 euros more than the benefit of a linear tariff. We recommend a progression of at least 350%. In the event of a disability, you are well protected.

THE OPTIMALLY INSURED AMOUNT
In order to be able to maintain your standard of living, it is advisable to arrange an insurance sum of at least 100,000 euros. A dynamic adjustment agreement will offset inflation; the sum insured then increases annually by a certain percentage.

INCLUDES ADDITIONAL SERVICES
The insurance may include useful additional benefits such as death insurance or cosmetic operations. The inclusion of a monthly accident pension ensures you a regular monthly income for the rest of your life in the event of permanent impairment of your performance – especially if you are unable to work.

FAQs

WHY DO I NEED ACCIDENT INSURANCE?
Accident insurance secures your livelihood after the consequences of an accident. It covers all accidents in everyday life that happen at home, when travelling, during leisure time, at work or on the road. The statutory accident insurance does not pay here. In the event of a claim, the insured person receives a lump sum, which he can then use to compensate for loss of income or to convert his house to make it suitable for the disabled. In addition, a monthly pension payment can be agreed.

WHO SHOULD HAVE ACCIDENT INSURANCE
Accident insurance is particularly recommended for the self-employed, those who do not work, or partners who manage the household, because they are not legally insured against accidents. Older workers can often no longer take out disability insurance due to health issues, and accident insurance is often the only alternative. Children also have no claims against the statutory accident insurance and benefit from private accident insurance.

WHAT DOES ACCIDENT INSURANCE OFFER?
Whether at work or in your free time: Accident insurance is available around the clock and worldwide. The decisive factor in accident insurance is the disability benefit, the amount of which depends on the agreed sum insured and the degree of disability. The degree of disability is calculated as a percentage based on the so-called »limb tax«. Other benefits such as annuity payments, death benefit, sick pay or cosmetic surgery are optional. Check which of these building blocks make sense for you. The self-employed and freelancers should in any case have daily sickness allowance included in the catalog of benefits.

HOW HIGH SHOULD THE INSURANCE AMOUNT BE?
Choose an insurance sum that corresponds to your personal financial needs. Check how much money you need in an emergency, which insurances are already in place and consider the professional consequences that could result for you from an accident.

A RULE OF THUMB:
Estimate at least three times your current gross annual income. The younger you are, the higher the sum insured should be. Example: a 30-year-old man with a gross annual income of €40,000 should insure at least €120,000. Ideally, however, he estimates five times his income: €200,000. Arrange a dynamic with your accident insurance. Contributions and the sum insured are e.g. dynamically adjusted annually to the contribution development of the statutory pension insurance.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF LOSS?
Report the accident to your insurer immediately. You will receive an accident report, which you must send back immediately to the doctors/hospitals treating you with details of how the accident happened and the injuries. A fatal accident must be reported to the insurance company within 48 hours. If you want to claim disability, a written statement must be submitted to the insurer no later than 15 months after the accident.
